CALLING ALL ARTS & CULTURE ENTHUSIASTS! REALIZE YOUR DREAMS THROUGH THE ‘ISKANDAR MALAYSIA BEYOND BOUNDARIES PROGRAMME’ (IMB2P) MOBILITY GRANT: Keen applicants are invited to attend the Batch 2 briefing session on 24 August 2019

Iskandar Malaysia, August 14, 2019 – Iskandar Malaysia is calling for all arts and culture enthusiasts to apply for the ‘Iskandar Malaysia Beyond Borders’ (IMB2P) mobility grant, an initiative that funds arts, culture and heritage projects of Iskandar Malaysia with collaborative international partners abroad or are already in Malaysia.

“IMB2P aims to recognise and appreciate the artistic and cultural diversity as well as to support and encourage collaboration and sharing for better use of resources and sustainability. This is very much in line with Iskandar Malaysia’s social inclusiveness agenda and ‘Creativity’ as a promoted sector. As such, we welcome anyone with relevant, exciting and unique ideas to apply for the grant and make those ideas a
reality,” said YBhg Datuk Ismail Ibrahim, Chief Executive of Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA).

A total of RM500,000 is being offered under this grant with the 1st batch of grant having been given away earlier this year. Application for Batch 2 will be opened from September 1, 2019, to October 31, 2019.

Those who are keen to apply for the grant are invited to attend a briefing session on Saturday, 24 August 2019 from 11.00am to 1.00pm at IRDA HQ in Danga Bay. Visit www.facebook.com/imb2p or call 07 233 3000 for more information.

IMB2P allows participation and involvement from local artists, practitioners and students in Iskandar Malaysia in collaborative projects of arts, culture and heritage with any related international partners in Malaysia and overseas.

There are 3 categories under the grant with a maximum award of either RM8,000 or RM20,000 per person and per programme depending on the category applied for.

Ismail added that the grant is also a platform to create a livelier and soulful region as being a strong and sustainable metropolis of international standing means more than achieving financial and investments goals.

“At the end of the day, it is going to be mutually beneficial for the Rakyat, the region and even the state of Johor and the nation. The Rakyat gets to enhance their skills and experiences and showcase their arts and cultural talents, and these in-turns will give soul and excitement to the region,” explained Ismail.
