UO WORLD

There are several other countries that have implemented the Urban Observatory. Some examples can be browsed below.

01.
ESRI Urban Observatory

The Urban Observatory city comparison app enables you to explore the living fabric of great cities by browsing a variety of cities and themes.

02.
GAUTENG City-Region

The Gauteng City-Region Observatory (GCRO) is a partnership between the University of Johannesburg, the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG), and organised local government in Gauteng (SALGA-Gauteng).

03.
Urban Design & Development Centre (UDDC), Thailand

The Urban Design and Development Center (UddC) has expertise in regeneration of a city’s potential, and focuses on five main areas: Urban design and planning, research and analysis of urban data, creating participation of stakeholders and development partners, communications and public relations, and training.

04.
London Data Store

The London Datastore is a free and open data-sharing portal where anyone can access data relating to the capital. Whether you’re a citizen, business owner, researcher or developer, the site provides over 700 datasets to help you understand the city and develop solutions to London’s problems.

05.
UK Urban Observatory

The largest set of publicly available real time urban data in the UK.

06.
Manchester Urban Observatory

The Manchester Urban Observatory draws on expertise from across the University of Manchester's three faculties. Of strategic significance to the Urban Observatory are the Manchester Urban Institute (MUI) and the Manchester Environmental Research Institute (MERI), which have been established as interdisciplinary hubs bringing together academic and non-academic expertise from all over the world.

07.
Birmingham Urban Observatory

The mission of the Urban Observatories is to understand how to monitor cities at multiple scales both temporal and spatial and across multiple sectors. The approach will enable discovery-led science through large scale deployments of scientific instruments in the city to answer questions about technology, data storage, data standards and communications as well as more far reaching questions about the scale of monitoring required to carry out experiments in the city (density, accuracy, repeatability).

08.
Australian Urban Observatory

The Australian Urban Observatory is a digital platform that transforms complex urban data into easily understood liveability maps across Australia’s 21 largest cities. The Observatory draws on over 8 years of policy-relevant research by the Healthy Liveable Cities Group, within the Centre for Urban Research at RMIT University.
