Sungai Skudai is located at the heart of Iskandar Malaysia. The length of river is 46 km and 325 km square catchment area and located in Johor Bahru and Kulai District.

The river is under the (3) three administrative areas of the Local Authority which is Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru (in the east part), Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri (in the western part) and Majlis Perbandaran Kulai (in the eastern part).

EM1 : Enforcement of Act 672 towards the industrial premises.


EM2 : Enforcement of individual septic tank.

EM3 : Enforcement of installation of grease trap accordingly to the capacity.

EM4 : Enforcement of solid waste at the hot spots along the riverside.

EM5 : Closure of premises that do not comply with standards.

EM6 : Maintenance of detention pond.

EM7 : Enforcement of effluent from industrial.

EM8 : Improve enforcement on earthwork activities within the Sg Skudai river basin.

EM9 : Improve monitoring and enforcement against illegal dumping by wet markets, night markets and such along the river.

EM10 : Periodic monitoring and reporting of the water quality.

MA1 : SSR Program to be included as KPI for all agencies involved.


MA2 : Update spatial data inventory of pollution sources every six (6) months.

MA3 : To revise / improve the standard of discharge from sewerage treatment plants.

MA4 : Install water quality monitoring stations at targeted river sub-catchments.

MA5 : Review act and penalty on earthworks activities within the river which not comply to the standard.

MA7 : Management of ISO 140001 Sungai Skudai.
